Common Customer Questions

Yes. The Kinder model is slightly smaller to fit younger children and the Original model is for older children. If your child is between 2 to 5 years old, the Kinder model would be best. For children 5 to 12 years old, choose the Original™ model. Either Pumper Car vehicle will accommodate a child who weighs 300 pounds or less.

Maybe. The Pumper Car® Kinder™, Original™, and Uniflex™ models have received approval to use the healthcare HCPCS code A9300. Some insurance companies may cover part or all the cost of a Pumper Car unit that’s been prescribed to patients. We encourage you to talk with your child’s physician to see how a prescription for a Pumper Car vehicle at home would benefit your child, then call your insurance company to find out if the Pumper Car device would be covered.

Definitely! It’s a full-body workout for children of almost all abilities. And what’s great is that the kids just think they’re having fun while getting exercise.

Most children are able to figure out the push-pull rowing technique within a few minutes. Children with disabilities may need some adult guidance initially. However, once children understand the pushing and pulling technique of using both their arms and legs, they’re off racing around.

With our award-winning patented propulsion system, riders use both their arms and legs to achieve a full-body workout. Physical and occupational therapists around the country encourage their clients to use Pumper Car vehicles to help with the development of muscle strength, motor skills and balance, along with many other therapeutic benefits.

Yes. All our models may be used in a gym, empty garage, or large area that is safe to operate this type of vehicle. Though we don’t recommend using the power assist indoors, the Luxe and Cruiser models can come with stationary stands that allow you to train on your vehicle indoors.

We anticipate the first shipment of the Cruiser, Luxe, and Ambiflex models to arrive in late summer or fall 2024. Sign up for the mailing list and we’ll notify you when these products become available.

Yes, with the Kinder, Original and Uniflex models there will be some assembly needed. Don’t worry. We’ve made the process as easy for you as possible. It only takes about 20 to 30 minutes to put together and soon you’ll be riding around. To assist you, we’ve created a how-to video showing how to put the vehicle together. And if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call us.

We are working with our manufacturer on the Cruiser, Luxe, and Ambiflex models to determine if these products will require only minimal or no assembly at all.

Safety is our number-one concern and we’ve made sure that the Pumper Car vehicles meet or exceed all safety standards in the U.S. and Canada. For example, they:

  • are easy to operate
  • have non-slip handles
  • include a brake
  • are rated for riders up to 300 pounds

Additionally, the Pumper Car vehicles can’t roll backwards, are extremely durable, and very fun to ride.

As with any medical device, it’s important to consult your physician first. The Ambiflex model offers people the ability to get independent exercise to increase muscle strength while moving about during the day. This exercise can range from full-body, vigorous workouts to moderate activity for those with limited strength and physical capabilities. Some other the medical-related benefits of using the Ambiflex scooter include improved cardiovascular, joint and bone health, plus coordination.

Yes. Simply pull a lever under the seat to remove it from the vehicle, then lower the steering and propulsion column. The unit will fold down to about 12” high. This makes the Ambiflex scooter easy to place in a car’s trunk, back seat, or even a closet.
